Redington & McClendon Win TXTT Event #3 on Toledo Bend with 27-10
Moore & Pitt finish 2nd, Brown & Stephens finish in 3rd
Many, LA (March 29th, 2025) –The Texas weather once again showed its furry on 314 team tournament anglers fishing Event #3 of the 2025 Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s Texas Team Trail presented by Progressive on Toledo Bend Reservoir. Many teams reportedly started slow the first of the morning, and reported only catching keeper: however, as the sun came out it was the afternoon weather change that prevailed that led to a lot of upgrades in weight for many teams coming across the TXTT stage with a five-fish limit in their Rapala “Crush City” weigh-in bags however there is always a few teams that get off to a hot start in an event.
Tom Redington, serving as an alternate for his brother Dave who had to attend a wedding, fished with Chad McClendon and the team dropped a five-fish limit worth 27-10 on the scales to win the event and take home $66,745.00 in cash and prizes. This included the Angler’s Advantage side pot, $200 in T-H Marine Contingency Cash for owning a T-H Marine Atlas Jackplate, and a 2025 Ranger Z-518 boat and motor package.
After Chad and his regular tournament partner, Dave, finished second at Lake Texoma, the duo are in a solid position in 2025 Progressive Team of the Year points going into the final regular season event on Belton Lake in May.
“Today was nothing really crazy, it was a regular day of fishing in East Texas”, reported Redington. “We stayed shallow and power fished to catch 15-20 keepers with our best five coming by noon today and that’s the weight we dropped on the scales today.”
The team reported catching the majority of their keepers on a Berkley Swimjig tipped with a new Berkley Drip Minnow. After catching a limit, the team also deployed a Berkley 9 Nessie glidebait to capture a few key upgrades in their bag.
5th place team Ben Burns & Ian Nash won the Power-Pole Big Bass award with a Toledo Bend Largemouth weighing 8-14.
12th place team Jeff Reynolds and Shane Howell took home the $500 Garmin Trolling Motor bonus cash, and the $500 Garmin Electronic exclusive cash bonus. This added $1,000 to their end of the day check for running the right gear on their boat.
Ranger Boats owner Jason Bonds & Hayden Marshall took home $500 cash in Ranger Cup bonuses for owning a 2025 Ranger Z-521 and finishing 9th place.
