Burns & Nash win 2025 Progressive Team of the Year

Brookeland, TX (June 8th, 2025) – The 2025 Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s Texas Team Trail presented by Progressive finished the season in style on legendary Sam Rayburn Reservoir with hot sunny East Texas conditions and big largemouth bass. Teams that fished the event were qualified by finishing in the Top 75 in 2025 Progressive Team of the Year points after fishing all season with TXTT. Stops throughout the year took place at Sam Rayburn, Toledo Bend, Lake Texoma, and Belton Lake. Teams fishing in the championship event this week were competing for over $150,000 in cash & prizes.

Day-1 of the event saw the Louisiana team of Cole Moore and Cody Pitt take the lead after they weighed in 28-09. Today they decided to weigh-in early at the TXTT scales with another five-fish limit worth 24-14, which was anchored by nearly a ten pounder. The two day total weight of 53-07 secured the 2025 TXTT Championship victory and gave the team their second win of the 2025 TXTT season. For the win, the team takes home a 2025 Nitro Z-18 boat and motor package.

“This week was all about the deep bite,” said Cole Moore. “We were fishing structure in areas that we have a lot of history with on this lake. We caught several keepers each day and both days our better keepers came in the morning, within the first couple of casts.”

The duo reported making a 25-30 minute run north up the lake each morning and rotating around several spots within one area to do their damage.

“This week, we relied on Shimano rods and reels to wrangle our fish out of the deep water and threw a variety of deep fishing baits. There wasn’t necessarily one bait that out worked the other, if we didn’t get bit, we just kept the rotation going.”

The team reported using a big ‘Red Bug’ worm, deep diving crankbait, and a V&M football jig rigged with a Rapala ‘Crush City’ Clean-Up Craw.

A full breakdown of the top winning techniques and baits will be published early next week!
