2025 Progressive Angler of the Year Update

2025 Progressive Angler of the Year Update

Pro-Angler Robert Crow Takes An Early Lead

Springfield, Mo. (May 10th, 2025)– With one stop down in the 2025 Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s National Walleye Tour (NWT) presented by Progressive, and another coming up in less that two weeks on the Mississippi River, angler’s are already focused on the 2025 Progressive Team of the Year race and making the all important 2025 NWT Championship.

After one event, Lake Sharpe winner Robert Crow leads the 2025 Progressive Angler of the Year race with Ranger Boats angler Nate Leininger in 2nd, and Randy Topper in 3rd. A few heavy hitters are already starting the 2025 NWT season near the top in a search to become the 2025 NWT Progressive Angler of the Year.

Last season in 2024, Garmin Pro-Angler Tom Huynh tied the 2024 Progressive Angler of the Year winner Hunter Nitti, and after a solid Top 10 finish at Lake Sharpe he is eying redemption. But, also in the Top-10 after Lake Sharpe is the very consistent Nitro Boats Pro-Angler of Dylan Nussbaum. Dylan has won several titles within NWT, however putting his name on the NWT Angler of the Year trophy is still something he is trying to accomplish.

Past Progressive Angler of the Year winners Duane Hjelm, Mark Courts, and Korey Sprengel all cashed a check at Stop #1 of the 2025 NWT season, giving them a great starting spot in the season to capture a second AOY title.

In 2024, the NWT Progressive Angler of the Year winner Hunter Nitti took home a brand-new Nitro ZV21 boat package valued at over $80,000. In 2025, the same Nitro ZV21 boat package will be awarded to the top finishing points leader at the conclusion of the NWT Championship in September, plus the new design of the AOY trophy featuring the names of all the former AOY winners.

The Nitro ZV21 is a boat package many top NWT Pro-Angler are currently fishing out of this season, giving the NWT a unique opportunity at giving away a boat and motor package the points winner ready to fish out of the 2026 NWT season.
