SPRINGFIELD, MO (July 10, 2024) — The Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Inshore Fishing Association presented by Progressive is proud to announce a new style of tournament in 2024 for saltwater anglers.
The new model will be structured using a Catch-Record-Release format through the eTournament Fishing app. This will be an exciting new opportunity for anglers to catch and release their fish during the tournament and offers an opportunity for anglers of all skill levels to fish together or separately in the tournament. The event is open to all skill levels and any boat, kayak or wade fisherman who wants to compete.
Judging of the tournament will be based on anglers submitting the largest Redfish and Speckled Trout. The angler submitting the largest combined measurements of each species will be declared the IFA tournament champion.
The IFA tournament schedule in 2024 will consist of one tournament, August 17th & 18th, out of Bass Pro Shops in Tampa, Fla., with expansion planned for 2025. The cost is $125 per angler, and lots of exciting cash and prizes are up for grabs. In addition, there will be a Kids’ Division, with anglers eligible to compete if they are accompanied by an adult angler in the tournament.
Cash and prizes will be awarded to the Top-25 finishers, with additional prizes awarded to the anglers catching and recording the largest fish of each species.
