SPRINGFIELD, MO. (April 15th, 2024) – The 2024 Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s Texas Team Trail presented by Progressive completed its third regular season event this last weekend on Lake Fork. As expected this event proved to be a challenge for teams in the race to qualify for the championship at Toledo Bend as well as stay in the race to win the Progressive Team of the Year Title.
And after three events, the team of Brian Schott & Jim Smith are at now sitting at the top of the standings for the Progressive Team of the Year title. The team hasn’t finished below 19th place all season, cashing checks in all three regular season TXTT events. Their finishes include 16th – Sam Rayburn Reservoir, 19th – Sam Rayburn Reservoir, and 17th at Lake Fork. This shows that consistency is absolutely the key element of success in the TXTT. Should they hold on to win the Team of Year title they will win a 2024 Ranger Z-518 powered by a Mercury 150hp Pro XS.
Moving into second and only one point out of 1st place is Thomas Martens & Dean Alexander. Thomas & Dean have also cashed a check in all three regular season events of the 2024 TXTT season to include a Top-5 finish this past weekend at Lake Fork.
In third, with 694 points for the 2024 year is the well-known Texas team of Danny Iles & Brian Shook. Also cashing checks in all three of the regular season events thus far in 2024, this team has also stayed consistent all year and will be in contention for the title.
With just ONE regular season tournament left before the double points 2024 TXTT Championship in June, the Top-10 in 2024 Progressive Team of the Year is a complete shoot out. Only 68 points separates 10th place, to the current leaders.

The next TXTT event is at Richland Chambers in Corsicana, TX on May 4th. Teams will be fishing for over $80,000 in cash and prizes. The winning team will take home a package including a 2024 Nitro Z-18 with a Mercury 150 Pro XS, Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 73SV + Transducer unit, Power-Pole CHARGE system, plus additional contingencies, and Angler’s Advantage side-pot option. Based on a 225 boat field, the guaranteed prize purse will amount to $86,750!
